We at LOOP-OC aim to provide a safe haven for the loved ones of prison inmates. In doing so, our hope is to build stronger emotional health in our communities so that we can be better equipped to handle the burdens common in this situation. In this place, we will treat each other with compassion and acceptance, even when we feel like we are at our worst.

LOOP-OC serves the growing number of families directly affected by the incarceration of a loved one. Based in Newport Beach, California, our group provides a forum for open discussion about the challenges we face. We exchange ideas, offer insight based on personal experience, and help each other maintain emotional wellness.

Half of adults in the USA have an immediate family member who has been incarcerated. That’s about 113 million people who have a close family member who has spent time behind bars. Loved Ones of Prisoners aims to provide a safe and helpful space for people of this demographic so we can feel heard in our struggles and triumphs.
